The Week of the Young Child is an annual celebration hosted by the The National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) (NAEYC) celebrating early learning, young children, their teachers, and families. This year's event is April 16 - 20, 2018!
MUSIC MONDAY: Monday, April 16, 10 to 11 am
Play rhythm instruments and make your own. Then, enjoy a sing along with local musician Andy Kelly!
TASTY TUESDAY: Tuesday, April 17, 10 to 11 am
Learn were your food comes from and how it reaches your plate in a series of activities that starts with planting seeds and ends with a taste test of fresh, organic, and local foods from our friends at Berkshire Organics!
WORK TOGETHER WEDNESDAY: Wednesday, April 18, 10 to 11 am
When we work together as a community, we can accomplish anything! We will work with members of the Pittsfield Fire Department and their friend Sparky the Fire Dog to learn about fire safety, and build our own safe buildings with the big blue blocks of the Imagination Playground.
ARTSY THURSDAY: Thursday, April 19, 10 to 11 am
Hear the story of Ramon and his artistic journey in the book "Ish", as he learns that creativity has no wrong answers. Afterwards, create your own crumple water color art in honor of Ramon's "ish-ly" art.
FAMILY FRIDAY: Friday, April 20, 10 to 11 am
Join us for a Museum-wide scavenger hunt starting in Lab 102! Follow the clues and explore some of the most beloved and fascinating highlights from the Museum's collection. When you are finished, stop by the Museum Shop to collect your prize.
