The Transmitters-May the 4th Be With You!
The Barn at The Egremont Village Inn 17 Main St, South Egremont, Massachusetts 01258
The Transmitters are an original funk soul band from Berkshire County Massachusetts founded in 2014 by guitarist Rob Sanzone and bassist Miles Lally (founding members of the groups Jordan Weller and the Feathers / Lovan). In 2017, they reunited with former Feathers alum Joe Rose on keyboards. The band had a rotating roster of the best drummers in the northeast for many years and now Sturgis Cunningham. A deep-groove guitar driven band specializing in infectiously danceable grooves, the Transmitters are fueled by their endless devotion to funk, soul, reggae, surf and spirited rock n roll. Digging deep on improvisation, the exploration of musical space, and experimental sonic textures, the Transmitters captivate crowds of dancing fans while keeping the beat pumping much in the same vain of old-school block parties. A fan once said, “They’re not songs [being played], they’re conversations.”
With every note being played like the last note of the night, the Transmitters always deliver with high-energy entertainment full of sonic surprises. Expect to dance, let go and lose yourself deep in the groove.
