Take your yoga training to the next level—and your practice onto the water—in Kripalu’s first stand up paddleboard (SUP) yoga teacher training. One of the fastest growing water sports, SUP yoga combines the healthy benefits of outdoor recreation with the fundamentals of asana practice, in a way that is accessible to all ages and skill levels. Our seven-day training provides all the knowledge and skills necessary to confidently and safely take your students or clients off the mat and onto the board in a fun and inclusive way.
In this course, you learn
* Paddle stroke and turning techniques, maneuvering, board
handling, launching, and landing
* Water safety and rescue basics
* Trip and class leading skills, group management, and
communication on the water
* Anchoring systems and set-up
* SUP yoga postures, sequences and transitions
Note: Students who meet the essential eligibility criteria after the course will receive SUP Level One Instructor Certification and SUP Yoga Endorsement through the American Canoe and Kayak Association (ACA). Annual membership dues apply.
Prerequisites: 200-hour yoga teacher certification and current first aid/CPR certification required.
