A new kind of festival curated by Anna & Elizabeth
It’s not Coachella.
Imagine a day of music, ballads, storytelling, harmony workshops, and dance. A place where musicians blend with the audience. Where there’s no backstage. Where the green room is a vast field for picnicking. Anna and Elizabeth are Appalachian singer/songwriters who nestle in the space between ancient ballads and new sounds, and “are not only extraordinary musicians; they are also visual artists, historians, and storytellers” (No Depression) who have created a day of music with friends, including composer/cellist Paul Wiancko, experimental pedal steel luminary Susan Acorn, and dancer Sandy Silva, whose body percussion techniques and contemporary movement stands out at the vanguard of contemporary artistry in traditional music and dance. Come for a heritage-inspired festival and stay for the close harmonies.
From food to free tours of ancient medicinal herb gardens, this festival offers numerous experiences to enjoy with the music. Afternoon harmony & dance workshops. An evening performance in the barn that combines traditional song and dance with new compositions, movement, and projections inspired by the Shakers who built the barn. Followed by a rollicking barn dance.
