The Pittsfield 4th of July parade is consistently one of the single most highly attended, participatory and entertaining events in Berkshire County. It was listed by USA Today in 2008 as one of the top ten 4th of July events in the country and was chosen as one of the top 10 4th of July Parades by tripping.com in 2016. The parade dates back to 1824 and this is the 195th anniversary of the parade. The parade is currently run by an all-volunteer nonprofit organization.
