Join illustration historian David Apatoff for this look at the life and legacy of legendary illustrator N.C. Wyeth.
The student of Howard Pyle, he created more than 3000 paintings during his lifetime, many for Scribner Classics like Treasure Island and The Last of the Mohicans. A teacher in his own studio, he inspired creativity in his talented children, including Andrew Wyeth, Henriette Wyeth Hurd, Carolyn Wyeth, Ann Wyeth McCoy, and Nathaniel C. Wyeth. Andrew and grandson Jamie Wyeth went on to achieve their own fame.
David Apatoff writes for The Saturday Evening Post and is the author of several books on noted 20th century illustrators, including Bernie Fuchs, Robert Fawcett, and Al Dorne.
