“Fully charged and ready to break new ground, this is the kind of post-hiatus comeback most bands’ fans only dream of.” — Rolling Stone on Grizzly Bear's 2017 release
“Grounded in an inescapable melancholy; grand and focused, elegantly layered, delicate and dramatic.” — NPR
One of the most celebrated indie rock acts of the last two decades, Grizzly Bear's prog-rock-meets-chamber-pop sound took the music world by storm and helped to define a new wave of psychedelic-leaning sound. After a notable hiatus, the quartet is back touring for its first new album in five years, Painted Ruins. The band’s most synth-heavy and beat-driven album to date, Painted Ruins landed on most "best of" lists in 2017, including Rolling Stone, The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, and USA Today. Pitchfork notes Grizzly Bear’s “intricate compositions…are bound tighter than ever, evoking distant images and emotions that continually shift in and out of focus.”
Grizzly Bear joins a packed summer concert lineup — including Ray LaMontagne with special guest Neko Case (June 29), Courtney Barnett (July 12), and The Decemberists (June 15) — when it takes the stage in MASS MoCA's Hunter Center.
