Tunnel City Coffee is a specialty coffee roasting company located in the northern Berkshires of Western Massachusetts. Its flagship store on Spring Street in Williamstown features a full-service espresso bar, whole bean coffee, loose tea and pastry. Since its establishment in 1992, its operations have grown to include a cafe on the MASS MoCA campus and an expanded coffee roasting facility.
In August 2017, Tunnel City Coffee celebrated its 25th anniversary coinciding with the opening of a late night espresso bar, Uptown Tunnel, inside the newly constructed Williams College Bookstore located on Spring Street in Williamstown.
Shortly after, the roasting operation, formerly located in Heritage State Park, found a new home in the newly renovated and deeply historic Norad Mill in North Adams, MA. The restored location provides more room for Tunnel City to roast its specialty coffee and create offices for marketing, human resources and professional development.
With more than two dozen employees, Tunnel City Coffee thrives off its incredibly diverse core of baristas, bakers and roasters. Outside of the company they serve as students, teachers, artists, athletes, active and retired professionals, creators, preservationists, cooks, accountants, writers, photographers and so much more. We believe hiring people with depth and character brings soul to our cafes and gives the customer the ultimate specialty coffee experience.
