Established in 1995, the Berkshire Art Gallery features a wide range of American and European paintings from the 19th and 20th centuries. The Gallery specializes in works by artists who achieved great success in their lifetime, but whose accomplishments may not be reflected in today’s marketplace considering the quality of their work. Many studied in Europe or were associated with prestigious teachers or museums, such as Robert Henri or William Merritt Chase, or the National Academy of Design, Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, and Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. Their works can be found in museums and important private collections.
