Winter: Owls & Wintering Raptors at Monument Mountain
Located just off of Route 7 near the Stockbridge-Great Barrington border, adjacent to Monument Mountain High School, this land owned by the Trustees for Reservations offers hikes through deciduous forests, offering opportunities for owls especially on moon-lit nights.
The trails end at the summit as well as another great lookout at Devil’s Tower which are both ideal locations for spotting raptors during the daytime. During times of heavy snowfall, the parking lot is often closed, but street-side parking is always available.
