Sharing the Shed stage on Friday, August 30 at 7 p.m. are rock icons Pat Benatar & Neil Giraldo and Melissa Etheridge. The combination of Benatar’s vocals with Neil Giraldo’s songwriting and guitar have created 19 Top 40 hits, including “We Belong,” “Invincible,” “Love Is a Battlefield,” “Promises in The Dark,” and “We Live for Love.” They have sold over 30 million records worldwide and have won an unprecedented four consecutive Grammy awards. Benatar and Giraldo perform in Tanglewood as part of a multi-city tour this summer celebrating their 40th anniversary together.
Known for her confessional lyrics and raspy, smoky vocals, Etheridge has remained one of America’s favorite female singer-songwriters for more than two decades with sales of over 25 million albums, 5 platinum and 3 multi-platinum records, 15 Grammy award nominations and two wins, and an Oscar for “I Need to Wake Up” from the 2006 climate-change documentary "An Inconvenient Truth". On April 12, she releases her latest album, "the medicine show".
