Studies have shown that yoga is an effective way of reducing lower back pain as well as improving bone density. Learn functional exercises and poses to strengthen your muscles and bones, improve posture and balance, and increase flexibility in a safe and supportive environment. Classes are especially helpful for anyone with osteopenia or osteoporosis (or want to prevent it) as well as those who are feeling the negative effects of technology on their body and mind. Breathing exercises and other relaxation techniques are incorporated to reduce tension and anxiety. Leave feeling relaxed, empowered and standing taller!

Regina Burgio: (Yoga) Regina is passionate about yoga, healthy living, and enjoying life to the fullest. Her practice and teaching focuses on the therapeutic benefits of yoga to counter the effects of technology and modern living, as well as a way to connect more deeply to oneself. She believes that yoga is for everyone and helps students to explore postures in a way that speaks to their own inner wisdom. Meditation, mindfulness and pranayama are a part of every class, creating a full experience for the body, mind and spirit. When not on her mat, she is the principal of RB Design Co., and serves on the boards of Roots Rising and the Downtown Pittsfield Cultural Association.
