Learn techniques of manipulating and shaping fabric to affect how it is stained by dyes. Using tie dyeing techniques, we will create a variety of different patterns on the fabric. Fabrics from the natural dyeing workshop can be used for overdyeing.
A brief demonstration will yield 8" x 10" scraps of naturally dyed fabrics and students are encouraged to follow along. A history of tie dyeing and resist dyeing processes and practices will be shared with slides while fabrics are dyeing.
