JUNE 4 — Monochromatic Underpainting

This week you will use a monochromatic underpainting as a way to begin your painting. You will work from a simple still life that you will see on your screen. With an emphasis on simple shapes and color value you will develop your image, and then add color. You may need to complete the painting on your own.
JUNE 11 — Painting in Complimentary Colors

In this class you will begin today’s painting using either charcoal or pencil. You can set up a simple still life using three pieces of colored paper, two complimentary colors, and a third color of your choice.
JUNE 18 — Painting from a Photo

Today you will work from a photo. Two ways of doing that will be demonstrated. You choose which way to proceed, and then begin. Have on hand a few photos from magazines or that you have taken that you don’t mind marking up.
JUNE 25 — Color Schemes

Today we will talk about different color schemes, and the effect they have. You will choose one to use for today’s painting. You may set up your own still life, or use the model I set up!
JULY 2 — Finding the Color in White
