First Sunday Free: Fresh Takes
to
Clark Art Institute 225 South St., Williamstown, Massachusetts 01267
Studies show that approximately 80 percent of New Year’s resolutions fail by the second week of February. Reverse this trend by refocusing and recommitting to the New Year ahead with a day of fresh perspectives, introspection, and inspiration at the Clark. Spend some “me time” in the galleries, unplug by leaving your cell phone with our courtesy phone check and pick up a self-guide designed for personal reflection. In the Michael Conforti Pavilion, decorate a chalkboard to help you stay organized and face the rest of the year with a clean slate, then write a motivational letter to your future self to be sealed by you and mailed by us just in time for a six-month pick-you-up. “Caption This” in the Museum Pavilion to give new voice to an iconic Clark image, and visit the Manton Study Center for Works on Paper for a pop-up exhibition featuring recent acquisitions.
The Clark acquires works of art through purchase and by gift, and pursues special initiatives toward enhancing the strength, depth, and variety of the collection. Visit the Manton Study Center for Works on Paper for a one-day exhibition celebrating highlights from acquisitions made since the Manton Building reopened in 2016. The prints, drawings, and photographs on display represent the latest additions to the Clark’s collection of more than 6,500 works on paper.
All activities and admission to the galleries are free as part of the Clark’s First Sundays Free program, supported by funding from the officers and employees of Allen & Company, Inc.
