Back Porch Music with Billy Keane

Hear one of the most compelling indie rockers of today. Billy Keane of The Whiskey Treaty Roadshow (“defiant and driven” — Rolling Stone ) will perform beautiful old favorites and dreamy new songs, including the breathtaking “ Never Give Up ,” a rock ballad of hope and community. Segueing from folk to rock to blues in a (heart) beat, Keane will make you remember why you love Berkshire summer nights, as he plays from the laid-back porch of a Shaker structure that’s been around since 1795.

Keane, a singer-songwriter who hails from Pittsfield, MA, was discovered by James Taylor. With a gritty emotional tenor, he sings about freedom, love, peace, and solidarity. The Whiskey Treaty Roadshow’s protest song about the Dakota Access Pipeline, “Don’t Cross My Land,” was named by Rolling Stone one of the 10 Best Country/Americana Songs to Hear Now in 2019. Keane’s “Close to the Edge” was called “sidewalk poetry [that] ties simplicity into nuance, and insulates with hope” by roots music magazine No Depression .
