Meet artist Josh Simpson at the opening reception for his stunning
exhibition "Josh Simpson: Galactic Landscapes" on July 14, from 5:30 to 7:30 pm.
This solo show of innovative works by renowned glass artist Josh Simpson reflects his fascination with astrophysics, deep space, and the cosmos. The centerpiece is an Orrery, a moving, mechanical model of the solar system, made in collaboration with artist Erik Van Cort, with Simpson’s glass spheres as the sun, the planets, and their moons. Exemplifying the intersection of art and science, Simpson’s experimentation with technique and materials results in extraordinary fine art glass.
