Hearts, Circles, Heavens Hancock Shaker Village

Explore Anything but Simple, the Village’s Shaker Gift Drawings exhibition, with artist Brece Honeycutt. Examine the vibrant works, drawn by Shaker hands, filled with inscriptions, natural forms of leaves, flowers, and trees, and marvel at the exquisite ‘heart shaped’ notes. Drawing inspiration from the exhibition, experiment with stencils, watercolor and pencil on folded paper books and heart shaped paper, making your own gift drawing. Great for budding or experienced artists. Older children (age 12+) are welcome. Pre-registration required.

Fee:  $40/$36 HSV members

Brece Honeycutt makes nature-based and history-based drawings, sculptures and installations. Her installations have been placed in university campuses, historic houses, inner-city parks and in office buildings, libraries, urban markets and galleries. Honeycutt was awarded a 2018 Mass Cultural Council Artist Finalist Award Grant in Drawing & Printmaking.
