Skelly is a feature-length family film based on an experience shared by a community of people in the Berkshires in the late ’90s. It follows a group of kids who get together and make a haunted house for Halloween. (The real haunted house was built in the hill neighborhood of Great Barrington near Lake Mansfield.) At a time before smartphones, the experience of building the haunted house together allows the kids to work through this transitional period in their life in a healthy way, especially the main character Jonah, who is processing the death of his grandfather and his father’s grief during this time as well.
